Texts.com Alternatives After the Beeper Merger

Texts.com no longer takes new sign-ups and now points to Beeper. What happened, what it means for Texts users, and the alternatives worth a look.

Phone, laptop and notebook arranged on a bright workspace

Texts.com was, for a while, the app people recommended when you said "I want all my chats in one place." Sleek, fast, keyboard-friendly, and able to bring together WhatsApp, iMessage, Signal, Telegram and more.

If you're looking for it now, you've probably noticed things have changed.

What happened to Texts.com

Texts was sold to Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, in 2023. Automattic then acquired Beeper in 2024, and the two teams and products were combined. Texts.com now describes Beeper as the next generation of the Texts app.

According to Beeper's help center, Texts.com no longer accepts new sign-ups, though existing users can still log in and manage billing. Existing Texts subscribers were moved to Beeper plans: for example, Texts Personal subscribers to Beeper Plus at a lower monthly price.

So if you want what Texts did, the official successor is Beeper.

Option 1: Beeper, the direct successor

Beeper combines WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, Signal, Messenger, X, Google Messages, Google Chat, LinkedIn, Discord and Slack. It runs on iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, Windows, Linux and ChromeOS. iMessage is supported only in Beeper's Mac app. The core app is free, with Beeper Plus from $9.99 a month for extras.

Best for: former Texts users who want the same idea, especially on desktop.

Option 2: YAFOY, if email and work chat are part of the pile

Texts and Beeper focus on chat networks. If your messages also live in Gmail, Outlook, Teams and Slack, YAFOY brings those into one inbox, and on Android it also gathers WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, texts and more through notifications. Insight reads across everything and tells you what needs a reply first.

Best for: people whose overload is email plus work chat, at a desk or on a phone. YAFOY now has a desktop browser experience focused on Gmail, Outlook, Slack and Teams, with a shared message list, search and a conversation pane. Limits: it is not a native desktop chat-network client; Android notification conversations are not mirrored to desktop. See how the Universal Inbox works →

Option 3: Desktop all-in-one apps

If you mostly used Texts on a computer, apps like Rambox, Franz and Ferdium put the web versions of WhatsApp, Slack, Gmail and others side by side in one window. They don't have phone apps, and they show each service's own web page rather than merging conversations into one list.

Best for: desk-based work where you want everything open at once.

Using YAFOY at a desk

Connect the email accounts and Slack workspaces you need, then read and reply from the desktop conversation pane while keeping the message list visible. Search helps find received conversations; Add accepts text and files for saved Memory. Teams requires an eligible work or school account and may need IT approval. For personal chat networks on a computer, Beeper remains the more direct comparison.
